Accessibility at UC Merced
Welcome to UC Merced

At UC Merced, we are committed to making our programs, activities and services accessible and to providing equal opportunities to individuals with disabilities. This website summarizes the rights of individuals with disabilities under university policy, federal law, and state law, and provides information about accessing University programs and facilities for the campus community. We hope that, whether you are a student, employee, or visitor, this website will help you meet your accessibility needs, as well as the needs of those with whom you interact on a regular basis.

We would like to thank UC Davis for "loaning" us some of their formatting for UC Merced's Accessibility pages.  https://accessibility.ucdavis.edu/

Student Accessibility Services

The mission of Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is to promote equal educational access and full participation by and for students with disabilities in the rich academic and campus life environment at UC Merced.

Disability Management Services

UC Merced Disability Management Services (DMS) staff consult university employees (faculty & staff) in need of reasonable accommodation due to a disability or religious belief in order to perform the essential functions of their jobs. DMS staff also provide consultation and training to supervisors and managers to ensure compliance with policy, laws and regulations related to confidentiality, disability access, accommodation for work-related and non-industrial limitations, religious belief, and employment rights.

Visitors and Special Events

Accommodation requests for public access or needs during campus sponsored events open to the public should be facilitated through the event coordinator responsible for coordinating the specific event.

For facility information related to building or public access, please contact: Certified Building Official David Gonzalves
