Grievances

If you are experiencing challenges with a person, office, or department at the university on the basis of your disability and have been unable to find a resolution, dedicated resources and processes are available. The university is committed to resolving concerns informally whenever possible, but formal complaint procedures are available for those who wish to file a complaint of disability discrimination or a failure to provide reasonable accommodations. When a formal complaint is filed, the university ensures it is handled promptly and through the appropriate process, working to resolve concerns and provide remedies where necessary.

The Accessibility Officer can provide information, assistance, and referrals for addressing concerns related to accessibility, accommodations, or possible discrimination.

Formal ADA Grievance

Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination is responsible for investigating complaints that a University employee has violated the University’s policies relating to the ADA/Rehabilitation Act and relevant federal, state, and local laws.

Additional Grievance Options for Staff and Faculty

Grievances are filed with the Committee on Privilege and Tenure of the Academic Senate (P&T).  Discipline and grievances for non-senate faculty and other academic appointees are guided by their Collective Bargaining Agreement.
